Porcelain veneers are thin custom made shells of tooth-colored materials that cover the front surface of teeth to improve the appearance of your smile. These shells are bonded to the front of each tooth to change the color, shape, size or length of your teeth. While some dentists do “no prep veneers, ” Dr. Tang most commonly recommends some tooth reduction so that the veneers blend in seamlessly with the tooth, have the proper thickness, and don’t trap debris that would cause new decay.
